The RNOH PNI UNIT is recognised as a leading UK tertiary centre for the treatment of complex peripheral nerve injuries for all age groups including brachial plexus injuries in both infants and adults (in both the upper and lower limb). Some patients are seen and treated as emergencies as a result of acute trauma, and others are referred because of chronic problems (e.g. Nerve compressions including TOS) sometimes these can be associated with previous injury. The AHP team comprises of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and a CNS working across two sites. Bolsover therapy team treat outpatients and run parallel drop-in clinics alongside the consultants on a Tuesday morning. Stanmore upper limb therapy team care for both outpatients and patients who are attending for a one-week inpatient rehabilitation stay. This post will be primarily based at Bolsover Street- carrying an outpatient case load - but occasionally the post holder may have to work at the Stanmore site to help to cover clinics, rehab patients and attend teaching and training sessions.
