AutoCAD – Project Engineer
An established engineering company based in near Keele, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join their internal team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in mechanical engineering and 2D AutoCAD who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and growing business.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for overseeing and progressing new pumping station projects from design through to material procurement and delivery. This role offers the chance to work across multiple projects in a dynamic, technically rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities of this AutoCAD – Project Engineer role:
1. Create and modify technical drawings using 2D AutoCAD
2. Prepare parts lists and support material procurement to ensure competitive pricing
3. Produce and maintain O&M manuals and related documentation
4. Assist with the preparation of quotations within set deadlines
5. Provide feedback on market trends and customer requirements
6. Support client queries and help build long-term customer relationships
7. Liaise effectively with customers, area sales managers, the management team, and suppliers
8. Ensure all products and materials comply with company and industry standards
9. Maintain and enhance company procedures where possible
10. Identify personal training needs to support professional growth
Qualifications & Skills required for this AutoCAD – Project Engineer role:
11. Mechanical Engineering experience
12. AutoCAD LT competency
13. General understanding of mechanical engineering principles
14. Computer literacy (MS Office, AutoCAD LT)
15. Experience within the pump, pipework, or valve industry
16. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
17. Flexible and adaptable approach to work
18. Strong team player with excellent communication skills
19. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects
20. Highly organised, with attention to detail
21. Self-motivated with a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude
22. Professional and confident dealing with all levels of enquiry
23. Keen to learn and develop new skills
Details of this this AutoCAD – Project Engineer role:
24. Based at the head office in Woore, Cheshire
25. Office hours: 08:00 – 18:00
26. Workshop hours: Typically 08:00 – 16:30
27. Flexibility: Option to work contracted hours over 4 days (subject to workload and manager discretion)
28. Due to the rural location, own transport is essential
29. Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 DOE
30. 30 days’ holiday (including statutory), rising to 33 days after 1 year
31. Annual performance bonus (non-contractual)
