Your new company, Hays Accountancy & Finance, is recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of our client, an organization supporting individuals and families living with disabilities, autism, and brain injuries. The role is crucial in ensuring the organization performs effectively and efficiently, complying with all external and internal reporting and compliance requirements. It will supervise a broad range of functions within the finance department, primarily focusing on management accounts, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as managing associated staff. Staff development and mentoring are key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities include:
1. Contributing to Finance Improvement Plans for services.
2. Assisting with grant applications and claims.
3. Supporting grant and verification audits.
4. Leading supplier contract reviews and renewals, including tender processes.
5. Preparing monthly management accounts reports, including variance reports.
6. Overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes.
7. Providing project management support.
8. Ensuring compliance with statutory returns (e.g., Companies House, Charity Commission).
9. Promoting GDPR compliance and cybersecurity within the department.
10. Line management and staff training, including supporting and mentoring staff.
Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, or ACCA).
* At least 3 years' experience in a finance function within a large, diverse organization.
* Experience in management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
* Knowledge of ISO systems or other quality management systems.
Desirable:
* Experience with grant funding, including grant claims and applications.
* Experience in managing and mentoring staff.
