We are looking for an empathetic and dedicated Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Wellbeing Team at Severn Vale School to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will work as part of a team with two other wellbeing practitioners, provide professional support to students experiencing emotional, social, and mental health challenges. As a key part of our Wellbeing Team, you will deliver one-to-one sessions, group sessions, help with crisis management and promote mental health awareness across the school community. The role is for 22.5 hours per week, over 3 days.
The successful applicant will hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 or above certificate in counselling) OR have experience working in a mental health/wellbeing setting with children or adults. You will have experience working with children and adolescents, demonstrating effective interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills. You will have a clear understanding of the challenges faced by young people including the impact of social media, family dynamics and peer relationships. You will be a confident, autonomous practitioner who is able to adapt the intervention to the needs of the individual student.
