Severn Vale School is an Academy which provides an inclusive secondary education for students aged 11-16, that delivers strong student outcomes through high quality teaching and outstanding pastoral care. We are looking for an empathetic and dedicated Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Wellbeing Team at Severn Vale School to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will work as part of a team with two other wellbeing practitioners, provide professional support to students experiencing emotional, social, and mental health challenges. As a key part of our Wellbeing Team, you will deliver one-to-one sessions, group sessions, help with crisis management and promote mental health awareness across the school community. The role is for 22.5 hours per week, over 3 days.

The successful applicant will hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 or above certificate in counselling) OR have experience working in a mental health/wellbeing setting with children or adults. You will have experience working with children and adolescents, demonstrating effective interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills. You will have a clear understanding of the challenges faced by young people including the impact of social media, family dynamics and peer relationships. You will be a confident, autonomous practitioner who is able to adapt the intervention to the needs of the individual student.
