Duty Solicitor, 1+ PQE, Birmingham, £35K-£40K (DOE). This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected, Legal 500 law firm as a Duty Solicitor within a busy and supportive team. Our client is looking for a motivated, skilled advocate with a passion for criminal defence and publicly funded work to help deliver exceptional representation to those who need it most.

\nTHE ROLE:

* Duty Solicitor position based in Birmingham.
\n\t
* Attend police stations to represent clients.
\n\t
* Provide legal advice and representation to detained individuals.
\n\t
* Manage and progress your own caseload of criminal defence matters.
\n\t
* Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court.
\n\t
* Undertake Crown Court advocacy where appropriate.
\n\t
* Prepare cases for trial, appeal and related proceedings.
\n\t
* Maintain high quality client care and case management throughout.

THE CANDIDATE:
\n\n
\n\n
\n\n
\n\t
1. Qualified Solicitor with 1+ years’ PQE in handling criminal matters.
\n\t
2. Crime duty accreditation preferred.
\n\t
3. Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
\n\t
4. Strong IT proficiency.
\n\t
5. Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
\n\t
