Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mortgage Broker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, excellent customer service skills, and a deep understanding of the mortgage industry. This role involves guiding clients through the mortgage process, from loan origination to closing, while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Duties
* Assist clients in understanding their mortgage options and guide them through the loan application process.
* Evaluate clients' financial situations to determine suitable loan products.
* Negotiate terms and conditions with lenders on behalf of clients.
* Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and TILA (Truth in Lending Act).
* Conduct credit analysis and assess risk factors for loan approvals.
* Process loans efficiently while maintaining accurate records throughout the mortgage servicing lifecycle.
* Collaborate with underwriters to facilitate timely loan approvals.
* Utilize accounting software and financial software for effective loan management.
* Maintain knowledge of FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and Quicken software for processing loans.
* Provide exceptional customer service to build lasting relationships with clients.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in financial sales, preferably within the mortgage or banking sectors.
* Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful loan origination and processing.
* Familiarity with escrow processes, contracts, and basic math principles is essential.
* Previous experience as a loan officer is highly desirable.
* Proficient in using financial software and 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
* Understanding of mortgage underwriting processes and requirements.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and lenders.
