Skilled Aircraft Fitter
Location: Filton - onsite
Duration: 12 months
Rate: £26.92 per hour Inside IR35
Our client, a global leader in aerospace, defence, and aviation manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Aircraft Fitter. In this role, you'll be responsible for carrying out fitting tasks on aircraft, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret engineering instructions and aircraft drawings
* Carry out fitting tasks such as drilling, shimming, and sealing using hand and power tools
* Perform 1st party certification following relevant training
* Work in confined spaces, including tank work and wing access
* Maintain Health & Safety standards at all times
Required Skills & Experience
* Completed a full engineering apprenticeship (e.g., Aircraft/Sheet Metal Worker, Fitter/Turner, Maintenance Technician, Tool Maker)
* NVQ Level 2 & 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
* Previous experience as a Fitter/Assembly Operator with confident use of hand tools
* Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
