<div><p>My client are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager on a 3‑month interim basis. This sole‑handed position is responsible for managing outsourced payroll for 370 employees and liaising with the managed vendor of Frontier (CHRIS 21). This role starts immediately. The client allows hybrid working and fully remote.</p><p>Pay: £250 – £300 per day.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Deliver remuneration policy and procedures through the payroll process to ensure accuracy and timely payment to staff and board.</li><li>Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.</li><li>Oversee processing of payroll changes (new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades.</li><li>Resolve issues and answer payroll‑related questions from staff; ensure the payroll service is accessible to staff and board members and assist in the delivery of payroll, pension, and payroll tax communications.</li><li>Assist in the governance of West Kents pension scheme.</li><li>Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in payroll records.</li><li>Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and comply with relevant law.</li><li>Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity; comply with data protection rules and West Kent procedures at all times.</li><li>Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits.</li><li>Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.</li><li>Responsible for payroll, pension, and HMRC payroll tax returns.</li><li>Complete payroll reports for record‑keeping purposes or managerial review and produce staff costing reports to assist budget holders in budget management.</li><li>Explain complex payroll information to colleagues and stakeholders with no financial knowledge, with ease.</li><li>Continuously improve the Finance Department.</li><li>Deliver and demonstrate value for money through responsibilities.</li><li>Model West Kents values and undertake any other duties to meet role requirements.</li></ul></div>
