Senior Finance Officer (3-Month Temporary Contract) Could potentially go permanent for the right candidate. Location: Southend (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home)Hours: 37.5 per weekRate: Up to £22.00 per hour Start: ASAP
Your New Company is an established organisation in the Southend area and is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join their finance team on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied finance role and can confidently support operational finance activities.Your New Role Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will support day-to-day financial operations and ensure strong financial governance. Key responsibilities include:
* Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and corporate accounts.
* Raising, tracking, and escalating debtor invoices, and maintaining a clear debtor process.
* Processing and coding invoices accurately and on time.
* Supporting audits, compliance, and ongoing financial policy reviews.
* Maintaining supplier, contract, and asset registers.
* Supporting managers with queries relating to invoicing, petty cash, credit cards, banking and expenses.
* Managing bank account administration, reconciliations, and petty cash.
* Producing monthly debtor reports for senior stakeholders.
* Acting as the finance point of contact for private client contracts, ensuring correct documentation is in place.
What You'll Need to Succeed
* Intermediate Excel skills (including formulas, lookups, pivot tables).
* Experience in operational finance and financial administration.
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and communicate confidently with stakeholders.
