Unit manager (non clinical)

Glasgow (Glasgow City)
Hc-One
Unit manager
Posted: 27 August
Offer description

About The Role

In your role as a Unit Manager at HC-One, you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. It carries across every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. By joining us, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give back to those people.

Being a Unit Manager means taking responsibility for a specific part of the home and delivering the highest level of care. You may also run the entire home when the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager are absent. Whether reporting mobility issues, requesting samples, or administering medication, you’ll always prioritize resident dignity and well-being.

We are passionate about ensuring our current and future colleagues can be their true selves, and that our workforce reflects the communities we serve. We promote inclusive working practices and welcome applicants from all backgrounds into our HC-One family.

We aim to provide an excellent working experience, starting with a quick turnaround from job offer to onboarding.

About The Company

Complementing your salary, we offer a wide range of benefits to support your physical and psychological well-being, including:

* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
* Free uniform
* Hourly rate dependent on experience and qualifications
* Nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
* Company pension scheme
* 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
* Group life assurance
* Wagestream for financial wellbeing and flexible pay access
* Learning and development opportunities with support for qualifications
* GP online service for 24/7 consultations, available to colleagues and their children under 16
* Learning from experienced colleagues in a supportive team
* Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores
* Employee Assistance Programme offering 24/7 support for physical, mental, and financial issues
* Recognition schemes like ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards
* Refer a Friend scheme with rewards up to £1000 per referral

We are committed to a swift onboarding process from offer to start date.

About You

You will have proven leadership skills in a care home for vulnerable adults, coupled with positive energy and excellent interpersonal skills. This role requires accountability, and you should communicate with consideration and kindness to residents and colleagues.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. Attendance at safeguarding training is mandatory, and you should be able to seek advice and escalate concerns appropriately.
