Responsibilities and duties of the Commissioning Engineer role
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will:
* Lead the testing and commissioning of generator systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and client requirements
* Act as the lead commissioning engineer on site, managing commissioning activities through to completion
* Collaborate with Design Engineers and Project Managers during internal planning and design meetings
* Coordinate commissioning activities with external stakeholders including M&E contractors, BMS engineers, DNOs and client teams
* Manage commissioning programmes safely and in line with project schedules
* Record test results, witness final testing, and compile commissioning and handover documentation
* Deliver on-site handover training to client personnel
* Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and assist with installations where required
* Travel nationwide with regular overnight stays
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in generator commissioning or a similar role
* Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems
* Experience with ComAp and Deep Sea control systems
* Familiarity with commissioning software such as ComAp PC Suite and DSE Configuration Suite
* Experience with multi-set systems, synchronisation with mains, and G99 testing
* PLC programming experience
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
* Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
