Cover Supervisor - Maternity
Salary: Scale 4, Point £26, £28,142.00 FTE)
Working Pattern: 32.5 hours per week, 39 week per year
Contract Type: Fixed Term Maternity cover, expected until 17 July 2026

Anglian Learning is seeking an organised, proactive Technical Services Team Administrator to support our ICT and Technical Services teams across the Trust. This is a varied role combining systems administration, ICT support coordination, website and telephony support, and project administration.
About the Role
We are seeking a confident, organised and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is a vital role within the school, ensuring continuity of learning during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
The successful candidate will supervise whole classes, maintain a positive and purposeful learning environment, and ensure students remain on task while upholding the school's behaviour policies.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the assigned teacher
Deliver pre-set lessons to a high standard, sometimes at short notice
Maintain good order and manage behaviour effectively
Provide constructive feedback to teachers via lesson reports
Collect and return completed work as requested
Provide cover for registration periods
Support departmental administration (reprographics, displays, general admin)
Assist with additional school support tasks when cover demand is low
Attend staff briefings and meetings as required
Promote equality of opportunity and inclusive practice
Support the use of ICT to enhance learning
Uphold school policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety requirements
Person Specification
Essential:
GCSE English and Maths (A*–C or equivalent)
Recent experience working with children in an educational setting
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
Knowledge of child development and learning processes
Ability to write clear lesson feedback reports
Understanding of SEN and inclusive practices
Excellent organisational skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
Flexible, adaptable and able to manage time effectively
Desirable:
Good working knowledge of ICT to support learning
Experience contributing to information-sharing systems
Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students and staff
A proactive approach and good sense of humour
