About This Opportunity

As a Parent Engagement Worker in the Family Connection (Prevention) team, you will work directly with parents using creative ways of engagement to encourage participation. You will also identify and encourage social and support opportunities, helping to strengthen links with involved professionals and the wider community. This is a practical role and therefore you will not always be working a standard Monday to Friday 9-5; it is a role that will also at times see you offering support to families outside of normal working hours and at weekends, as these are the times that families often need the most support.

Salary: £32,061 – £32,597 per annum
Hours: 37 per week
Location: Carlisle, Workington
Contract: 24 months fixed term

Responsibilities

As a Parent Engagement Worker within the Prevention team, you will support families within their homes and the community, strengthening links and networks to enable children and young people to be safe and happy in a home able to meet their needs for consistent care and security. The role will also involve identifying groups for children and young people to engage with for support and camaraderie, ensuring the voice of the children and young people is heard and informs the decisions that are made about them.
