Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver approximately £7 billion of major projects. We are seeking high-value expertise from regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site-wide improvements, and supporting services.
As a result of increasing demand for our services, we are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team on the Lightly Shielded Store 1 (LSS1) Project.
Responsibilities will include:
* Undertake structural analysis and design for LSS1 as directed by the Lead Structural Engineer. This includes designing the portal frame, crane support steelwork, secondary steelwork, reinforced concrete raft, walls, and slabs. Software such as Tekla, as well as hand calculations, will be used.
* Work with structural designers to ensure the design is translated into the 3D model and that 2D AutoCAD GA and detail drawings are produced from the model as the design progresses through Preliminary and Detailed Design.
* Develop material and workmanship specifications for the structural elements of the building as the design advances into Detailed Design.
* Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and the Construction team to ensure the overall design is coordinated, meets functional requirements, and can be constructed safely and efficiently.
* Fulfil the Designer role under the CDM Regulations.
We’ll inspire and empower you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow, and succeed – today and into tomorrow. We offer a range of opportunities to develop your career within a supportive and diverse team committed to doing the right thing for our people, clients, and communities.

Work-life balance and flexibility are key priorities. We are open to discussing hybrid, part-time, and flexible working hours, patterns, and locations to suit you and our business.
Here's What You'll Need:
* Have a civil/structural engineering degree and be working towards or have achieved Chartered status.
* Experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design to Eurocodes, including crane loading. Some experience with reinforcement detailed design and steelwork connection design is advantageous. Ability to undertake and check designs independently.
* Proficiency in structural analysis/design software, ideally Tekla. Familiarity with 3D modeling (Revit) and AutoCAD for 2D drawings.
* Working knowledge of CDM regulations.
* Ideally, nuclear experience or experience in a similar industrial field.
* Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams.
