Senior Structural Engineer
to join our team on the
Lightly Shielded Store 1 (LSS1) Project. Responsibilities will include:
Undertake structural analysis and design for LSS1 as directed by the Lead Structural Engineer. This includes designing the portal frame, crane support steelwork, secondary steelwork, reinforced concrete raft, walls, and slabs. Software such as Tekla, along with hand calculations, will be used. Collaborate with structural designers to ensure the design is accurately translated into the 3D model and that 2D AutoCAD GA and detailed drawings are produced as the design progresses through Preliminary and Detailed Design phases. Develop material and workmanship specifications for the structural elements of the building as the design advances into Detailed Design. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and the Construction team to ensure the overall design for the plant is integrated, meets functional requirements, and can be constructed safely and efficiently. Here's What You'll Need:
Hold a civil/structural engineering degree and be working towards or have achieved Chartered status. Have experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design to Eurocodes, ideally including crane loading. Some experience with reinforcement detailed design and steelwork connection design would be advantageous. Capable of undertaking independent design and reviewing others' work. Be experienced in using structural analysis/design software, preferably Tekla. Familiarity with 3D modeling (Revit) and AutoCAD for 2D drawings. Have a working knowledge of CDM regulations. Ideally possess some nuclear industry experience, or experience in a similar industrial field. Be comfortable working within multi-disciplinary teams.
