Overview
Cancer care is a rapidly developing and relatively new area of expertise within physiotherapy. The Band 7 Physiotherapist takes a lead role, alongside Band 8a Physiotherapists, to provide a high quality; evidence-based physiotherapy service for patients referred to the Haematology service. The post holder will plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy service for the Haematology service, covering 28 beds on 2 wards, the Ambulatory chemotherapy day unit and outpatients as appropriate. The post holder also line manages a Band 6 physiotherapist on the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) unit and other inpatient rotational Band 6s and provides leadership oversight of the inpatient service at Sutton.

We are looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist with oncology experience and an interest in haematology. You will work with a diverse group of patients with haematological cancers, mainly inpatients (including the Teenage Young Adult unit) but also some clinics and outpatients. As a leader, you\'ll guide and support a talented team of Band 5 and 6 physiotherapists, coordinating the inpatient service at our Sutton site. Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy service for the Haematology service (28 beds on 2 wards, Ambulatory chemotherapy day unit and outpatients as appropriate).
* Line manage a Band 6 physiotherapist on the TYA unit and other inpatient rotational Band 6s; provide leadership oversight of the inpatient service at Sutton.
* Lead and support a diverse team of Band 5 and 6 physiotherapists; contribute to inpatient service leadership at the Sutton site.
* Collaborate with Band 8a Physiotherapists and other colleagues to deliver evidence-based, cancer-focused physiotherapy for haematology patients.
Qualifications and requirements
* Enthusiastic physiotherapist with oncology experience and an interest in haematology.
* Experience in leading and supporting a team of physiotherapists; ability to coordinate inpatient services.
* Ability to work across inpatient wards, ambulatory units, and outpatients; strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
* Commitment to professional development, supervision, and ongoing learning.
