Job Description
The International and Regional Development Directorate is a key department responsible for delivering the University of Salford's internationalisation strategy and ICZ (Industry Collaboration Zones) agenda. The Directorate includes: Degree Apprenticeships, UK and International Partnerships, the International Office, Salford Languages, Enterprise, and the ICZ support team.
Salford Languages is a centre of international study and language learning, offering British Council-accredited English language courses and foreign language programmes to current and prospective students. It is ranked in the top 10 UK University English Language Centres (EL Gazette) and has passed rigorous inspection processes. All courses are fully accredited by the British Council and Salford Languages is a member of English UK.
Role Responsibilities
1. You must hold a valid DBS-check certificate for the duration of your engagement in activities involving under-18s or vulnerable adults.
2. Ensure student targets are achieved and applications are processed accurately and efficiently, in line with University policies and academic requirements.
3. Handle a wide range of applications for the University, advising on decisions regarding International Foundation Year applications based on set entry criteria, and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across academic and university services.
4. Oversee all IFY applications for Salford Languages, ensuring timely and consistent processing. Develop a thorough understanding of international and UK qualifications for IFY entry and UKVI regulations.
5. Due to global time-zone differences, occasional weekend and outside-office hours work may be required.
Additional Notes
During peak periods (August, September, December), it may be necessary to restrict annual leave. The application deadline is 23:59 on the specified closing date.
