As a Domestic Facilities Assistant, your role is essential in maintaining clean and safe hospitals for patients, visitors, and staff. The NHS relies on your contribution.
You will be part of a dynamic team focused on high standards of cleanliness and infection control, working in clinical and non-clinical areas under the guidance of team leaders, while adhering to safe hygiene practices.
Main duties of the job
1. Perform general and specialised cleaning tasks as directed by your team leaders, including cleaning beds, floors, toilets, sinks, and internal glass and walls.
2. Carry out deep cleaning and ward decants as required, including tasks like steam cleaning and buffing.
3. Change bay curtains, bed drapes, and clean blinds.
4. Collaborate with ward or department teams to respond to work priorities and protocols.
5. Adapt to unforeseen requests and tasks as needed.
6. Follow COSHH and health and safety policies, including manual handling and waste management procedures.
7. Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure proper waste segregation and removal.
