About The Role:
As a Spanish Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Years 7-11), potentially extending to Key Stage 5 (A-Level) depending on experience and school need. You will foster a love for the Spanish language and culture, encouraging students to develop strong communication skills and a deeper understanding of the Spanish-speaking world.
Responsibilities:
1. Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality Spanish lessons to students at various Key Stages, catering to diverse learning abilities.
2. Creating a positive, immersive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation in language acquisition.
3. Utilising a range of teaching methods to engage students and promote fluency and accuracy in Spanish.
4. Contributing to the development and implementation of the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) curriculum.
5. Participating in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
6. Fostering strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, and actively engaging in the wider school community.
7. Potentially preparing students for GCSE and/or A-Level examinations in Spanish.
Requirements:
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
9. A relevant degree in Spanish or a related subject.
10. Proven experience teaching Spanish across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a UK secondary school.
11. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
12. Passion for the Spanish language and culture, with a genuine desire to impart this enthusiasm to pupils.
13. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
14. Commitment to continuous professional development.
15. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
