Overview
Small Animal Surgeon – Northwest Veterinary Specialists. An experienced small animal surgeon (purely soft tissue or mixed soft tissue and orthopaedics) is sought to join our practice. The applicant must be board certified (ECVS/ACVS/RCVS) and eager to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Leadership in the surgery department may be possible but is not compulsory. Our current surgery team includes 2 ECVS diplomates, 2 post‑ECVS residency clinicians, and one 3rd year ECVS resident.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical services as a specialist consultant in surgery cases.
* Support and develop the surgery team by supervising and teaching residents, interns, and nurses.
* Work collaboratively with other services and foster interdepartmental relationships.
* Demonstrate professional standards that advance patient care.
* Contribute to an equal share of the out-of-hours rota with time off in lieu following weekend cover.
Qualifications
* Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) or equivalent.
* Excellent command of written and spoken English.
* Maintain a professional and caring approach in all aspects of work.
* Provide evidence of Right to Work in the UK.

Northwest Veterinary Specialists is an easy commute from Chester, Liverpool, North Wales and Manchester. The hospital is a multidisciplinary referral center with departments including orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, neurology, internal medicine, oncology, anaesthesia, dermatology and diagnostic imaging. It runs European Diplomate or RCVS Specialist standards and offers on-site 24/7 inpatient facilities with RVNs and veterinary interns. Imaging includes digital radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasonography, and on-site high-field 1.5T MRI.
