An Academic Mentor is needed in a Mixed Secondary School and Sixth Form in South West London.
This will be a full time long term Academic Mentor position, with scope to go permanent.
Working hours for this Academic Mentor post will be 8am to 4pm.
Responsibilities for this Academic Mentor role will include but not be limited to:
* Supporting SEN and LAP students in group or whole class intervention sessions
* Working with the teachers to ensure each students learning needs are identified
* Attending to students social, emotional and personal needs when required
* Supporting behaviour management and using appropriate strategies in line with academy policy
* Undertaking learning activities/teaching programmes when needed
The rates of pay for this Academic Mentor position will be between GBP85.50 to GBP125 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.
The School
An Outstanding Secondary School and Sixth Form in the London Borough of Merton.
It is a mixed, 11 : 18, non:selective school with a wide demographic of pupils and staff.
90 of students stay in education or employment after Key Stage 4.
The site has its own dedicated SEN Support Centre and a variety of sports facilities.
Ofsted have noted there is positive culture of learning and a strong sense of community.
Requirements
Applications are welcome if youre a recent Graduate or experienced Academic Mentor.
Youre also welcome if youre a British trained Academic Mentor or overseas trained Academic Mentor.
All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this position as an Academic Mentor:
* Right to work in the UK
* Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
* UK Bachelors Degree or overseas equivalent
* Experience as an Academic Mentor in UK schools or interest in working with children/teenagers
