Home-Start Kirklees is a family support charity, helping families with young children deal with whatever life throws at them. We help families facing isolation, bereavement, mental health issues, financial insecurity and more. Our local network of trained volunteers and paid expert staff support families with young children through their toughest times. Our vision is a society in which every parent/carer has the support they need to give their children the best start in life. We are currently recruiting for: 2 x Family Workers (Temporary 6 month contract) Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: NJC Scale SCP 7 – 11. Starting salary SCP 7 (£26,403) We have a temporary 6 month vacancy for a 2 Family Workers who will contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of Home-Start Kirklees The Family Worker will work with parents/carers/parents-to-be, living within Kirklees, who have been referred to us, to provide practical support that will enable them to cope confidently with parenting, to access appropriate services for themselves and their children, and to engage in education or training. Essential requirements include: Experience of caring for young children Experience of working with families and/or volunteers Ability to work as part of a team with supervisory support Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace Car driver/owner (expenses will be paid) Experience of working with vulnerable groups and ensuring safeguarding practice is embedded and adhered to Home-Start Kirklees is committed to a policy of equality and diversity which respects the identity, rights and value of all individuals.
