Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, with a flair for creativity and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and will cook food to children of nursery.
Responsibilities
* Execute the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
* Prepare food production processes, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish.
* Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
* Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
* Develop new menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Qualifications
* Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate and a catering (good to have but not mandatory)
* Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
* Strong culinary skills with extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management.
* Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in kitchen operations.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 15 per week
