Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer
Location: Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom (Hybrid: 3 days per week in the office in Glasgow City Centre or at a site in Helensburgh).
The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team within the Approval Authority; the primary purpose of the role is to directly support current operations and future programmes.
Responsibilities
* Provide expertise in EMC for industrial plant and machinery.
* Apply knowledge of current design standards and industry practices including British, European, and Defence Standards (Def Stan 59-411).
* Contribute to concept design, detailed design, and construction stages across electrical engineering projects (ideally including industrial and/or maritime).
* Design assessments of plant and equipment to withstand EMC hazards.
* Author and produce robust technical justifications, management plans, control plans, and supporting documentation to enable design modifications to be authorised within a high-hazard industry.
* Collaborate on multi-discipline projects, providing engineering input within industrial and/or maritime contexts.
Qualifications
* Experience as an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer with knowledge of industrial plant and machinery.
* Understanding of current design standards and practices across British, European, and Defence Standards (Def Stan 59-411).
* Theoretical and practical skills across concept design, detailed design, and construction stages for electrical engineering projects (industrial and/or maritime experience preferred).
* Experience in design assessment to withstand EMC hazards.
* Experience authoring and producing robust technical justification, management and control plans, and related documentation for high-hazard environments.

* Security Requirement: SC Clearance.
