IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship at Wymondham High Academy part of Enrich Learning Trust
We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated IT Solutions Apprentice to join our Digital Team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT support, network management, and audio/visual services while working towards a recognised qualification.
You will help maintain and support IT systems across the Trust primarily at Diss High School and Long Stratton High School ensuring smooth network connectivity, secure systems, and excellent user support for staff and students.
This is a varied, practical role where no two days are the same ranging from troubleshooting IT issues to setting up AV equipment for school productions.
Apprenticeship Overview
* Salary: £7.55 an hour, Automatic salary increase after 1 year of apprenticeship for those who are 19+
* Working Week: Monday to Thursday 8 AM till 4 PM and Friday 8 AM till 3:30 PM
* Hours: 37 hours per week
* Duration: 24 months

Key Responsibilities
IT Network Support
* Maintain reliable internet and network connectivity across the Trust.
* Respond to IT helpdesk requests, troubleshooting issues both on-site and remotely.
* Install and configure hardware/software on workstations and devices.
* Set up and manage user accounts in Microsoft 365, MIS, and other systems.
* Maintain and contribute to an IT knowledge base for future problem-solving.
Hardware & Equipment
* Set up, check, and maintain laptops, iPads, printers, projectors, and AV equipment.
* Carry out routine maintenance, replace consumables, and complete minor repairs.
* Keep accurate inventories and security mark equipment.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection
* Monitor and maintain network security, ensuring safe and appropriate use.
* Assist with cyber incident response and promote cyber safety in line with NCSC/DFE guidelines.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR, RPA, and Copyright Licensing Authority regulations.
Audio/Visual Support
* Set up and operate AV equipment for assemblies, school events, and performances.
* Film, edit, and produce video content for internal and external use.
* Liaise with suppliers for AV equipment hire or purchase.
Project & Event Support
* Provide technical support for IT-related projects across the Trust.
* Attend up to five scheduled evening events annually (e.g. parents' evenings, performances).
* Assist with examination material preparation and submission.

Qualifications & Requirements
* 5 GCSEs (Grade C/5 or above) including Maths, English, and IT/Computing.
* Level 3 or A-Level in IT, Digital Technologies, Computer Science, or similar (desirable).
* Good IT literacy and keyboard skills.
* Full driving licence (or working towards) preferred.
* Flexibility to work occasional evenings.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 IT Solutions Apprenticeship standard qualification
Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice's needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.
