Overview
Rainbow Mother and Baby unit is a 6‑bed specialist commissioned service providing assessment, support and treatment to women suffering from acute mental health illness from the third trimester of pregnancy up to their infant being 12 months old. Admissions are primarily accepted from the East of England. The team works closely with other key professions to secure the best outcomes for both mother and baby, so strong communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
* Deliver group and one‑to‑one therapeutic engagement to mothers and their families.
* Act as a key member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), contributing to MDT care planning and attending professional meetings.
* Develop and run the ward therapeutic programme, largely group‑based with some one‑to‑one sessions.
* Conduct assessments where needed.
* Contribute to person‑centred, individualized care planning.
* Structure the therapeutic programme to meet the needs of both mother and infant.
* Assist in the supervision of junior staff members.
