Programme Manager (Engineering)
Warwick – 3 days on-site
£55,000 - £65,000
VIQU have partnered with a long-established engineering manufacturer known for producing highly complex, safety-critical industrial vehicles and systems.
They are now looking for a Programme Manager to take ownership of their project management function, driving delivery across multiple interrelated engineering/manufacturing programmes.
The Role
You’ll lead programme governance end-to-end:
* Overseeing delivery from initiation to closure, maintaining control over cost, time, quality, scope and risk.
* Driving strategic alignment between projects and wider business objectives.
* Ensuring visibility of programme health through KPIs, risk registers, RAG reporting and board-level updates.
* Influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority, resolving bottlenecks, escalating supplier issues and coordinating dependencies.
* Improving frameworks and processes using best practice from both Agile and Waterfall, helping standardise documentation, PPAP improvements and engineering change workflows.
* Supporting and developing a small team of project managers.
What You’ll Need
* Experience delivering complex engineering/manufacturing programmes, ideally in a similar product-driven, multi-discipline environment.
* Proven leadership of both cross-functional teams and a small team of project managers.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple programmes simultaneously under structured governance.
* Ability to operate confidently within a matrix environment — influencing, negotiating, and building strong working relationships.
* Knowledge of PRINCE2 / Agile, MS Project, MS Teams/SharePoint, and MRP/ERP systems.
* Accuracy, attention to detail and a proactive, improvement-driven mindset.
Nice to Have
* Engineering/manufacturing exposure such as BOMs, sales orders, engineering drawings or vehicle systems.
* STEM degree or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.
