Job Description
3. Credit & Collection Management
4. Develop and implement the company's credit control policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with business goals.
5. Set credit limits and payment terms in line with company policies.
6. Collaborate closely with Sales, and Finance teams to ensure smooth resolution of account issues.
7. Maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring adherence to agreed credit terms.
8. Lead initiatives to improve DSO, cash flow, and overall receivables performance.
9. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the credit control team, including credit assessment, billing, collections, and dispute management.
10. Monitor aged debt, identify high-risk accounts, and ensure timely action on overdue balances.
11. Manage the cash collection forecast and collaborate with Management on liquidity planning.
12. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and relevant legislation.
13. Work closely with the credit insurance company on insuring all clients and report on exceptions to Management and the Sales team Team Leadership & Development
14. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Credit Controllers.
15. Establish clear performance targets, Team Productivity and Collection Coverage, Customer Dispute Resolution Time) and track results.
16. Drive a customer service-oriented culture within the credit control function.
17. Support training on negotiation, communication, and dispute resolution.
18. Provide regular coaching, performance feedback, and training to enhance team capability.
19. Foster a results-driven and customer-focused culture within the credit control function. Reporting & Analysis
20. Prepare and present regular AR aging and bad debt reports for senior management.
21. Analyse KPIs, credit and collection trends, identify process improvements, and propose data-driven solutions.
22. Oversee the provision for doubtful debts and support external audit requirements.
23. Credit insurance reporting by exceptions and any changes to levels insured
The Successful Applicant
A successful Credit Control Manager should have:
24. Proven experience within a similar role, preferably within a high volume transaction environment.
25. Direct experience or indirect experience through third-party debt collection agencies in global debt collection, particularly within Europe
26. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
27. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
28. Leadership skills to manage and inspire a team effectively.
29. An organised and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
