Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Technical Manager role based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The Technical Manager will oversee project management activities, ensure the successful execution of technical operations, and provide critical technical support across multiple developments. The role involves guiding research and development initiatives, managing technical teams, analyzing project requirements, and ensuring seamless collaboration among stakeholders to meet design and construction goals with precision.
Core Responsibilities & Key Requirements
Technical Knowledge
* Deep understanding of UK Building Regulations, NHBC/LABC standards, planning legislation, and CDM regulations.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit to review, manage, and coordinate architectural, structural, and civil engineering designs (e.g., roads, sewers).
Project Management
* Leading multiple, concurrent residential projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality.
* Acting as the link between land, commercial, and construction teams; liaising with local authorities for technical approvals.
Problem Solving
* Resolving site‑specific design issues and providing technical support to construction teams.
Skills
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills to manage consultants and internal teams.
Experience
Previous experience as a Technical Manager or senior coordinator within a housebuilder or developer, typically with a degree in Architecture or Engineering.
Qualifications
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Building Construction.
* Relevant experience within a residential development or contracting environment.
