Based at our Portsmouth manufacturing site as the Accounts Payable Assistant youll join the Finance team reporting to the Finance Manager. To be responsible for matching, coding and processing of invoices and expenses onto the ledger in an organised and efficient way. Initially this will just be for the Portsmouth site but will also include Alabama when system implementation and handover is complete.You will be proactive, detail orientated and enjoy a busy and fast paced role. The operational hours at our Portsmouth site are: 0 7.30am to 4.15pm Monday to Thursday with every second Friday 07.30am to 4.00pm. We operate a non-working day Free Friday every other Friday. We are now part of the Dart Aerospace Group and the site is a leading technology provider for the aerospace, marine and military markets supplying an extensive range of specialist fuel tanks and flotation systems, as well as engineering expertise and support for fixed and rotary wing aircrafts, land vehicles, missiles, UAVs, torpedoes and marine vessels. Our customer base includes Airbus, BAE Systems, Bell, Boeing, General Automics, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Sikorsky, Saab, MOD. Job Responsibilities Daily checks of the AP inbox responding to queries. Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently, including supplier, expense reports, and payments. Verify and reconcile invoices and statements, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any invoicing discrepancies or issues in a timely manner. Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and data entry into accounting systems. Prepare and process weekly, monthly, and yearly reports as required. Support the finance team with various administrative tasks as needed. How youll contribute To help us make a difference, youll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes: Essential: Good standard of general education to include grade C/Level 4 or above in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) Previous experience in accounts payable or a related finance role preferred. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel. Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines. Excellent organisational and communication skills. A proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
