Are you a seasoned Civil or Structural Engineer ready to take on technical leadership within major nuclear energy projects? We're supporting a leading organisation in the energy sector as they continue to expand their engineering capability. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact, senior position where you will shape engineering strategy, lead complex project delivery, and influence the future of major UK energy programmes.
As a senior engineering leader, you will:
* Serve as Technical Authority and Responsible Engineer across major projects.
* Define engineering strategy, standards, and best practice for civil & structural disciplines.
* Lead multidisciplinary teams through the full project lifecycle—bids, concept, detailed design, and construction.
* Oversee delivery of complex engineering packages to time, cost, and quality.
* Provide governance, assurance, and technical leadership on safety-critical systems.
* Support development of safety case documentation, structural design substantiation, and technical reporting.
* Engage at senior level with clients, regulators, and industry bodies.
* Mentor and grow capability within the wider engineering team.
* Drive innovation, digital delivery, and continuous improvement.
* Support business development and build long-term client relationships.
Skills & Experience

* Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related field (MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc).
* Chartered Engineer status (or working toward it).
* Proven leadership—technical lead, line manager, or Responsible Engineer roles.
* Extensive civil & structural design experience within highly regulated environments (nuclear sector experience highly advantageous).
* Strong understanding of nuclear safety, regulation, and QA processes.
* Experience with FE analysis tools, validation & verification, and BIM-integrated design workflows.
* Familiarity with ACI, ASCE, AISC standards is highly desirable.
* Strong grasp of H&S legislation and CDM requirements.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Recognised subject matter expertise and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
