Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + company car / fuel / benefits package
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
Overview: VANRATH is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within the Building Maintenance department for a leading Construction Company in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The role involves leading all commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of multiple projects, focusing on maximizing profitability, ensuring legal and contractual compliance, and managing all commercial issues proactively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Financial Management: Manage project budgets, forecasts, financial reports, cost control, and cash collection to ensure financial performance and profitability.
2. Contract Administration: Lead contract administration, including negotiations and variations, ensuring obligations are met and legal risks minimized.
3. Procurement and Tendering: Oversee procurement processes, evaluate bids, and select subcontractors and suppliers to ensure value and strategy alignment.
4. Cost Valuation and Reporting: Conduct valuations, manage payments, prepare final accounts, and oversee project profitability reporting, identifying risks and opportunities.
5. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and contractual risks, developing strategies to safeguard the company's interests.
Candidate Profile:
* Degree qualified or relevant qualifications
* Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a proven track record in senior roles
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry practices
* Advanced knowledge of contract law, building regulations, and health and safety
* Excellent commercial, negotiation, and influencing skills
* Good IT skills and ability to work under pressure
* Social Housing or maintenance experience is preferred
