Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £13.45 per hour during training and £14.46 after
An average Fully Qualified Professional Driver earn £43,000 per annum

The Role
We are excited to introduce our Trainee HGV Driver Programme at The NWH Group.
This is a unique opportunity to join our business without an HGV licence, and join the venture alongside our partner Capital4training. We will fully fund your training with the support of our partner Capital4training, who support you every step of the way into a long-term driving career.
As a Trainee HGV Driver, you will start your journey from day one, working towards gaining your HGV licence through a structured and supported process.
Your Journey
1. Attend an interview and selection process
2. Join NWH and Capital4training joined venture
3. Complete your medical and theory tests
4. Once you have passed your theory test and your practical test is booked, you will begin your trainee journey on a full-time basis.
5. You will start learning to drive HGVs leading to you successfully passing your HGV driving practical exam.
6. Complete our 5-week Newly Qualified Driver Training Programme
7. Progress to driving solo on the road
What You’ll Be Doing
8. Working towards gaining your HGV licence (fully funded)
9. Learning safe and professional driving practices
10. Supporting depot operations once you begin working on site
11. Completing structured training with experienced mentors
12. Building the skills required to become a professional HGV Driver
What We’re Looking For
13. Must be aged 21 or over (insurance requirement)
14. Car Licence
15. A positive attitude and willingness to learn
16. Commitment to building a career in driving
17. Reliable with good timekeeping
18. Strong focus on safety
19. Good communication skills
20. Preferably experience with driving van’s/ constructions but no essential
21. Must be based in Edinburgh
No previous HGV experience is required – we will support you through the full process.
