Job overview

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and caring Band 4 Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic Children and Young People’s Integrated Therapy (CYPIT) service in Buckinghamshire.

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll be a key part of our multidisciplinary team, helping to deliver high-quality, child-centred therapy for children and young people with a wide range of developmental and physical needs. While your main focus will be supporting our Paediatric Occupational Therapy service, you’ll also have opportunities to work closely with Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy colleagues, gaining valuable experience across disciplines.

The post offers a balance of community-based work—requiring some travel—and the flexibility of some home working. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference while developing your skills in a supportive and forward-thinking service.

Main duties of the job

1. Deliver therapy interventions under the guidance of CYPIT Therapists — working independently or with supervision to support children’s functional development.

2. Help deliver training and information sessions for schools, parents, and carers, building skills and confidence across the wider support network.

3. Manage your own caseload, planning, organising, and documenting interventions to ensure smooth, effective care.

4. Contribute to assessments, intervention delivery, and service-development projects, helping to shape and improve therapy practice.

5. Carry out delegated tasks that keep the therapy team running efficiently, supporting our impact-based clinical decision-making model.

6. Actively engage in CPD, clinical audits, and in-service training to continuously build your skills and professional confidence.
