Signalling Engineer We have a permanent opportunity for a Signalling Engineer to join our Consulting Rail team in Manchester and contribute to projects across the UK.
Title: Signalling Engineer
The standard working week is 37.5 hours with flexible working practices including hybrid, part-time and adaptable patterns.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to signalling design elements of projects including control systems, interlocking, track circuits and communication systems; lead a team to produce technically sound engineering solutions that comply with technical standards and client requirements.
* Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of scheme deliverables that meet quality, cost and programme criteria.
* Oversee actions of junior staff on similar tasks and take responsibility for their output.
* Liaise with client and supplier representatives, attend progress meetings and respond to queries.
* Manage a small, locally based single-discipline technical team and deliver their workload.
* Contribute to bid preparation and business development activities.
* Promote effective health and safety practices within the team.
Qualifications
* Experience in Rail Design Engineering, likely in an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent.
* Ability to produce or oversee technically sound engineering solutions compliant with relevant standards and client requirements.
* Experience with health, safety and welfare tasks such as the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
* Initial professional development leading to Incorporated or Chartered status or equivalent license, and a plan to achieve it.
* Demonstrated commitment to achieving professional status or equivalent licence.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject or demonstrable equivalent level of learning.
* EngTech status is desirable.
