Main purpose of the post:
As Digital Marketing and Social Media Officer, you will play a vital role in growing the online presence of Weston Park Cancer Charity and deepening engagement with supporters, clients, and the wider public. You will ensure our message reaches the right audiences in the most effective ways. Your main responsibility will be managing our social media channels, supporting the Marketing team in creating digital content and campaigns that raise awareness, promote fundraising, and share stories of those we support. This is a hands-on, creative role suited for someone passionate about social media, digital marketing, and making a difference.
This role will:
1. Support the development and implementation of social media strategies to increase engagement, reach, and donations.
2. Have prime responsibility for the charity's social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok), ensuring consistent, engaging, and mission-led content—planning, scheduling, and publishing content.
3. Manage the digital marketing content calendar and coordinate content with the Marketing team.
4. Create various digital content, including graphics, videos, reels, stories, blogs, and animations.
5. Monitor, respond to, and engage with followers and messages, maintaining a warm and professional tone aligned with the Weston Park Cancer Charity voice.
6. Coordinate paid social media campaigns using Meta Business Suite.
7. Track performance metrics and provide reports on engagement, growth, and reach, with recommendations for improvements.
8. Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute digital marketing campaigns for awareness, fundraising, and service promotion.
9. Assist in updating the charity's website content.
10. Support email marketing campaigns and manage the charity's regular e-newsletter using tools like Mailchimp.
11. Assist with Google Analytics and Google Ads.
12. Ensure all content is inclusive, accessible, and aligned with brand guidelines and values.
13. Stay updated with trends in digital communication and identify opportunities for innovation.
14. Manage activities and contacts through Weston.
Requirements:
* Experience managing social media platforms professionally.
* Strong writing and storytelling skills to craft engaging, compassionate content.
* Ability to create and edit basic digital graphics and short videos (e.g., Reels, TikToks).
* Confidence with social media scheduling tools and analytics platforms.
* Basic knowledge of website content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
* Basic knowledge of email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp).
* Basic knowledge of Google Ads.
