Another had severe school refusal—now chooses to attend daily, genuinely happy. A third was isolated for months— now attends daily with friends. Your governance creates lifelines for vulnerable families
What are we looking for?
Expertise in finance, HR, safeguarding, charity governance, education. Local to Brighton & willing to visit regularly—trustees should know our community. Commitment to inclusive education & comfort with rapid growth. Collaborative, solutions-focused, youth-centred. CIO conversion experience, SEND knowledge, trauma-informed education, scaling organisations, financial management. possible alternative education, neurodiversity, or parenting complex-needs young people welcomed.
What will you be doing?
Launched 3 months ago, already overwhelmed by demand. You'll build our board from scratch—creating financial controls, HR policies, safeguarding frameworks & strategic planning as we convert to CIO. Your expertise shapes how we operate, protect young people & expand beyond Brighton. The impact is real giving marginalised young people a second chance at education.
