A full time, permanent opportunity has arisen at our Barnsley site for an Automation Engineer to join the team. You will be a fully engaged team member and will assist the engineering team to maintain site electrical standards and ensure the site remains compliant with electrical regulations.
Responsibilities
* To drive CI initiatives with the electrical and automation agenda.
* Support and train engineering teams with maintenance and fault-finding activities.
* Custodian of electrical documentation, drawing and software backups to the agreed site standard.
* Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure the site is always compliant against electrical standards.
* Work with the maintenance planner to schedule electrical projects.
* Ensure that we hold the correct electrical critical spare parts, and the consignment stock is maintained.
* Supervise engineers and outside contractors.
Qualifications
* Recognised electrical/automation apprenticeship.
* Qualified to a minimum HNC level (or equivalent) electrical/controls discipline.
* Advanced PLC Skills - Allen Bradley (Rockwell Logix).
* Experience with Allen Bradley servo drives, Inverters and Network controls.
* Ability to work without supervision.
* Understanding of control systems and the ability to optimise them.
* Microsoft applications
* Experience in food manufacturing is desirable.
