Mental Health Support Worker – Glan Y Felin (SA8) at Accomplish Group
Location: SA8 4SL • Hours: 35 per week • Shifts: 08:30 AM – 9:00 PM
Glan Y Felin is a home that supports 7 gentlemen with a variety of needs including brain injury, autism and learning disability. We offer a calm environment that helps residents maintain independent living skills such as cooking and cleaning. The team includes long serving, knowledgeable staff. Residents enjoy community activities such as visits to local pubs, trips to Cardiff/Swansea, football matches, cinema, bowling, coffees and meals out.
Role summary
As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service, including promoting independence and helping residents live fulfilling lives.
Responsibilities
* Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
* Promoting independence while helping residents live fulfilling lives.
* Supporting and encouraging development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
* Maintaining and assisting with healthcare needs, including accompanying residents to routine appointments or administering medication.
* Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and shopping.
* Assisting with personal care as required.
* Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
* Providing guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
Experience within the care sector is not required as full training, coaching and development are provided.
