The post will be based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, working across the hospital but primarily on the Hyperacute Stroke Unit (HASU) on Ward 6. The role involves working as a Stroke Nurse Practitioner, triaging, assessing, and organizing care for suspected Stroke and TIA patients. You will collaborate with the Stroke Consultant, Resident Doctors, Physicians Associate, and other Stroke Nurse Practitioners.
Responsibilities include:
1. Promoting the development of evidence-based practices in stroke management.
2. Working within multidisciplinary and interagency teams.
3. Assisting with TIA clinics and nurse-led stroke review clinics for patients and their carers.
4. Working within allocated resources.
5. Participating in the delivery of multidisciplinary education and training programs for stroke care.
6. Providing knowledge and expertise to support nursing staff, therapists, students, and junior doctors.
7. Participating in research and audit activities.
8. Contributing to the ongoing development of stroke services.
