Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been re-engaged by a long standing client, a well-established a highly successful manufacturing business based in Exeter. Due to continued expansion they have tasked us with sourcing an ambitious Management Accountant to join the team; a full time, permanent opportunity that benefits from a generous hybrid working arrangement, exceptional financial and non-financial benefits and a real people focussed environment.
Working closely with the senior finance team and benefiting from a long standing and experienced group of colleagues, this will be a broad and interesting role focussing on the production of highly quality financial management information. Key focus points of the role to include:
- Preparation of high quality management accounts with accompanying commentary
- Play a key role in month-end procedures
- Work closely with senior finance team on a range of ongoing and ad-hoc accounting projects
- Lead on stock reconciliations
- Support and mentor junior members of the team
- Assist in the preparation of UK and European VAT returns
- Oversee many aspects of the accounts payable and receivable function, and nominal ledger computations
- Oversee supplier payment runs
- Accruals and prepayments
- Play a key role in all aspects of year-end procedures in line with annual audit requirements
- Add value in improving and streamlining the company’s ERP system and general accounting controls
For this role, we seek applications from either experienced Management Accountant’s, Assistant Accountant’s wishing to step up or a practice leaver seeking their first commercial opportunity. Candidates will ideally be AAT qualified or part professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), but we are open to considering applicants that possess recently gained and relevant vocational experience. Previous exposure gained in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous but by no means essential. The company is technology driven and keen to make best use of digital accounting systems so a strong aptitude for traditional tools such as MS Excel will be essential, as will the ability to be trained on bespoke ERP systems. The role works within a fast paced and passionate department where the successful candidate will enjoy a visible role, both in and out of finance.
