Internal Communications Officer
Local Authority | Temporary with Potential to Go Permanent
A local authority is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Officer to join its Communications team on a temporary basis, with genuine potential for the role to become permanent.
This role will support a major period of organisational change and requires someone who can combine behaviour‑change communications with hands‑on video production to engage and motivate internal audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering internal change communications using recognised change and behavioural frameworks (e.g. COM‑B, OASIS or similar)
Planning, filming and editing high‑quality internal video content to support change programmes and leadership messaging
Turning complex organisational change into clear, engaging internal communications
Managing content across intranet, newsletters, email and internal channels
Working closely with HR, OD and senior stakeholdersAbout You:
Proven experience in internal communications, ideally within a local authority or public‑sector environment
Strong experience in change communications and change methodology
Hands‑on video production skills (filming and editing)
Excellent writing skills and strong visual storytelling capability
