Summary
To deliver high-quality, compliant asbestos training in accordance with UK legislation, HSE guidance, UKATA requirements, and company quality procedures.
The role is responsible for delivering approved UKATA training courses, developing and maintaining training materials, managing UKATA systems, and supporting consistent standards of training delivery across the business.
Role & Responsibilities (Accountabilities):
Training Delivery
Deliver UKATA-approved asbestos training courses including Asbestos Awareness, Duty to Manage Asbestos, and Category B (Non-Licensed Work).
Deliver training to internal staff and external clients in classroom, site-based, and virtual environments.
Create and deliver client-specific asbestos training courses tailored to client activities, risk profiles, and contractual requirements, while ensuring alignment with UKATA and HSE expectations.
Ensure all training delivery complies with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSG210, HSG247, HSG248, and relevant HSE guidance.
Maintain professional standards of delivery, presentation, and learner engagement at all times. Training Material Development & Maintenance
Develop, review, and maintain all asbestos training materials to ensure they remain accurate, current, and compliant with: Current asbestos legislation HSE guidance and approved codes of practice UKATA requirements for course content and learning outcomes
Ensure training materials reflect current figures, limits, terminology, and industry best practice.
Implement updates to training content following legislative changes, UKATA updates, audit findings, or internal improvement actions.
Support continual improvement of training delivery methods and learning resources.
Additional Responsibilities
Promote the services of the business at all times, identifying opportunities for further commercial development or client engagement.
Maintain personal competence through CPD and refresher training.
Ensure all required training, medical, and certification relevant to the role remain in date.
Act at all times in accordance with company core values and professional conduct standards.
Maintain confidentiality of client, learner, and company information. Requirements
Meets UKATA tutor approval requirements. Demonstrate asbestos industry experience relevant to courses delivered
. Successful completion of a UKATA-recognised tutor training programme.
Technical competence in delivering UKATA-approved Asbestos Awareness, Duty to Manage, and Category B Non-Licensed Work.
Strong asbestos legislation and HSE guidance knowledge.
Experience auditing or mentoring trainers
. Full UK driving license
