SEN Support Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Teaching Assistant to work within a mainstream primary school in Colchester, starting in September on a full-time basis.
This role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs within the classroom, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role:
* Providing targeted support to pupils with SEN within a mainstream primary setting
* Supporting learning, engagement, and emotional regulation in the classroom
* Working one-to-one and in small groups
* Collaborating closely with the class teacher and SENCO
* Helping to create a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have previous SEN experience (essential)
* Have experience working in a mainstream primary school
* Be calm, patient, and nurturing in their approach
* Be confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
* Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
