Role Overview
You will provide and maintain efficient administrative and reception services for the Radiology Department, ensuring that a high quality service is delivered to patients, staff and Consultants. You’ll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team - showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
1. Ensure all customers are dealt with in a professional manner and all queries are dealt with efficiently - over the telephone and email
2. Take bookings for Diagnostic Imaging examinations and give patients precise and accurate preparation instructions.
3. Take and give accurate information over the telephone and to have an efficient telephone manner.
4. Advise the Administration Lead of any problems within the department and to handle minor complaints with immediate action and a thorough follow up.
5. Ensure that effective booking, information, reporting and filing systems are maintained and developed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
6. Check General area/CT / MRI charges for the previous day, adding issues on Compucare for inpatients.
7. Check bookings scheduled for following day and obtain request forms to ensure efficient patient journey.
8. Create and maintain good working relationships with all members of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, liaising regularly with the Administration Manager to form a cohesive team, working together to provide an exemplary service.
9. Promote good relations with referring clinicians, other hospital departments and outside organisations to ensure that the reputation of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and the Bupa Cromwell Hospital is upheld.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
10. Experience in Administration within a healthcare environment
11. Experience within radiology is desirable
12. Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
13. Excellent telephone manner
14. Articulate and Polite
15. Organisational skills – meeting deadlines and prioritising workloads
16. Confident and can work under pressure
17. Natural ability to empathise with patients and demonstrate genuine care
18. Ability to work as part of a team
19. Ability to work independently and autonomously
