LGV MECHANIC/FITTER
A.W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd has a vacancy for an experienced and qualified LGV Mechanic/ Fitter to work at our Gilwilly site, repairing and maintaining LGV units and a varied range of trailers, including walking floors, timber cranes, tippers, and curtain-sided trailers.
The ideal applicant will have experience in maintaining LGVs, taking into account Health and Safety requirements, whilst making the best use of time and resources.
Hours of work are variable but worked during dayshift, Monday to Friday inclusive, with alternate Saturdays. However, depending on workload, there may be a requirement to work additional hours.
Ideally, you will have a time-served LGV background and have attained appropriate City & Guilds, NVQ, or BTEC qualifications. More importantly, you will have experience working in a Heavy Goods Vehicle workshop.
*The Role:*
* Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, MOT preparation, and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standard.
* Carry out a wide range of defect repairs.
* Perform minor and major repairs on lorries and trailers.
* Carry out fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and rectification using the manufacturer's computer systems.
* Complete job cards and service sheets promptly.
* Repair and refurbish company trailers.
* LGV Licence desired however not essential.
* Good housekeeping routines to meet H&S requirements.
