Full-Time Learning Support Assistant - Iver Heath (Reception or Nursery) Are you passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs? Your Responsibilities as a Learning Support Assistant: As a Learning Support Assistant in this school, your role may include: Providing 1:1 support for a Reception-aged child with special educational needs. Assisting Nursery-aged children in accessing learning activities and developing social, communication, and motor skills. Supporting pupils with ASD, speech and language delays, sensory needs, or other developmental challenges. Using visual aids, Makaton (if applicable), or sensory strategies to engage pupils. Creating a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment to promote independence. Assisting with personal care when needed, always promoting dignity and respect. Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and parents to monitor progress and adapt support strategies. Promoting positive behaviour using gentle, consistent approaches suited to early years. What We're Looking For: Experience supporting children in EYFS or early years settings, ideally with SEN. Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach. Ability to adapt to different children's needs and communication styles. Commitment to promoting inclusion and safeguarding in every aspect of your work.
