We have opportunities for Chargehand Industrial Painter to join our Major Bridges Maintenance Team. The major bridges include the Queensferry Crossing, Forth Road Bridge, Clackmannanshire & Kincardine Bridges. The role is based in South Queensferry, but there is scope to carry out works all over the SE contract.
The Chargehand role will involve carrying out on-site direction/instruction to team, painting and blasting works, gathering information for paint inspections on the Forth Road Bridge/Queensferry Crossing and other locations throughout the SE Unit as required. The role also requires involvement in the day-to-day activities relating to the delivery of routine and cyclic maintenance works and schemes of up to £1,000,000 in value, at South Queensferry Depot in the South East Unit.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with on-site supervision and work delegation.
Carry out inspections prior to and post painting/blasting.
Carry out blasting and painting tasks.
Assist maintenance team in bespoke access installation/removal.
Carry out cyclic maintenance tasks within own team.
Rescue Team participation.
Adhere to Health & Safety legislation.
Operation of bridge access systems (gantries).
Assist other trades as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Certified ICATS Applicator/Blasting
Work at Height
Confined Space
Sound knowledge of Health and Safety
Industrial Blasting and Painting background
Must be able to work as part of composite team as required
Full Driving Licence
