Roadside Recovery Driver – Location: Addlestone (KT15 2QF). Rate: £18.91 per hour for HGV1, £17.24 for HGV2. Shift: Mixed Shift. Contract: End of Sep 2026.
About the role
As a Roadside Recovery Driver, you help the AA’s customers get back on the road safely and fast. You load vehicles onto your truck and transport the vehicle and customer to a garage or requested location.
Responsibilities
* A communicator: Calm, reassuring and professional with customers, ensuring they feel safe and their needs are met.
* A self‑starter: Work independently or as part of a team, driving to different locations in all weathers.
* A fixer/problem‑solver: Thrive in all situations, using your expertise to solve a variety of issues.
Requirements
* You live within 25 miles / 1 hour travel from the depot (postcode available in the advert).
* Full driving Category C licence (HGV2). CE (HGV1) licence preferred, but can be obtained.
* Driver CPC qualification and a digital drivers/tachograph card.
* Comfortable adapting to new technology – training is provided.
* Willing to work shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Additional information
Two weeks of training will be provided: first week online (mobile phone and tablet issued, Monday to Friday); second week at Oldbury with expenses covered and a car provided.
Candidate preference: Class 1 or 2 licence. Working hours 6 PM to 6 AM, 40‑hour week, rota 4 weeks in advance.
Interview process: online in early to mid‑April. Bonus up to £1,000 available until the end of the contract.
