The successful person will have an ‘eye for detail’, possess excellent communication and organisational skills together with strong area knowledge of Edinburgh and surrounding… The Role · Conduct property inspections Assist at times with void, check-in, check-out inspections · Assess the condition of properties, identifying maintenance issues, health and safety risks, and compliance concerns · Ensure properties meet statutory requirements (e.g. gas safety, electrical safety, fire safety including smoke alarms) · Take clear photographic evidence, detailed inspection notes and complete digital report Reporting & Documentation · Complete inspection reports accurately and within required timescales · Record defects, hazards, and recommended remedial actions · Update property management systems and maintain accurate records · Escalate urgent issues appropriately Maintenance & Compliance · Liaise with property managers, contractors, and landlords regarding required works · Monitor completion of remedial actions following inspections · Support compliance audits and regulatory inspections · Assist with risk assessments and compliance checks Tenant & Stakeholder Engagement · Communicate professionally with tenants, landlords, and colleagues · Arrange and confirm inspection appointments · Provide clear explanations of findings and next steps where required General Duties · Ensure all work is carried out in line with company policies and procedures · Adhere to health and safety requirements at all times · Travel between properties as required · Undertake any other reasonable duties related to the role Person Specification Essential · Strong attention to detail and reporting skills · Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload · Good IT skills · Full UK driving licence · A genuine ‘people person’ · Team player Desirable · Previous experience in property inspections, housing, facilities management, or a related field Good knowledge of property maintenance and basic building construction · Customer service experience Skills & Competencies · Excellent observational and problem-solving skills · Strong written and verbal communication · Organised with good time management · Professional and approachable manner · Ability to assess risk and prioritise actions
