Senior Compliance Manager – Challenger Bank
Hybrid: 2–3 days in London office
Are you an experienced compliance professional looking to make your mark in a growing challenger bank? This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior role where you’ll shape the regulatory compliance agenda, lead a small team, and play a key part in driving a culture of integrity and accountability across the organisation.
The Role
As Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager, you’ll act as a trusted advisor and key point of contact between the business and the second line of defence. You’ll be responsible for managing compliance risk, providing expert regulatory guidance and ensuring the bank remains compliant with all governing bodies.
You will be:
* Leading regulatory horizon scanning and assessing the impact of new requirements.
* Advising senior management on compliance risks, customer outcomes, and regulatory obligations.
* Preparing and coordinating responses to regulatory requests.
* Overseeing the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) processes.
* Producing clear management information (MI) and regulatory briefings for committees and senior stakeholders.
* Embedding a strong compliance culture across the organisation.
* Managing and developing two Regulatory Compliance Officers.
Your experience
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in compliance and regulatory compliance within banking. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
* In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations and proven experience in a regulated banking environment.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Leadership experience and the ability to develop and mentor a team.
* Experience of interpreting and applying regulatory requirements such as Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty.
* A relevant compliance qualification (e.g. ICA, IRM) would be advantageous.
